First of all, ~love-the-fuzzy deserves a HUGE thank you for helping me out with this, and most of the credit for how good it looks. I don't draw. I'm a writer, an AMV-maker, and a filmmaker. Drawing is not my forté. ~love-the-fuzzy is an amazing artist who could've drawn this many times better than I ever could, and who is a master of photoshop. She tirelessly devoted herself to photoshopping this picture (of a fandom that she doesn't like!) for me so that I could enter it in a contest. She cleaned the pencil, darkened the lines, inked, colored, and made an entire background. GO VISIT HER AWESOME GALLERY! I love her forever for doing this. So much that I'm considering writing FULL-BLOWN LEMON PUPPYSHIPPING. On top of Mai's comatose body. (I hate puppyshipping with the fire of a thousand suns.)

My entry for the Scribfic Fanart Contest. Based on her fic, "A World of Different Dimensions". Kujaku Mai (Mai Valentine) from Yugioh.
There’s a photograph on the wall of when she won her first duelling contest and got her picture in the paper. She went down the next day and got a colour copy from the main offices. Her hair is wild, her skirt micro, and there’s a cut above her left perfectly-plucked brow she didn’t feel until the blood ran into her eye.

It’s a photo of Mai after she won her first duelling contest. Her hair is wild around her face. It’s never seen a chignon. Her clothes are bright purple and straight from the Sexpot aisle – about as far from a beige two-piece as you can get. And there’s a cut above her eye that she’s smiling too hard to even notice.

And... apparently this tournament was at a park. With random people. Which completely makes sense, since her first tournament would be something small, right?

Compared to the other pics in the contest, it's not that good, but compared to what I usually draw, it's pretty amazing. This is the first time I've drawn Mai and you can actually tell who she IS.
